Yesterday evening the 21 Armenian trucks standing on the Georgia-Russia border for 48 hours crossed the Upper Lars checkpoint, Director of Apaven International Freight Forwarding Company Gagik Aghajanyan told A1+.

Mr. Aghajanyan believes that yesterday's telephone conversation between the Armenian and Georgian foreign ministers quickened the process of border reopening.

The checkpoint had been closed since September 16 for some unfounded reasons.

Georgian officials shifted the blame for the closure on different structures.

According to press reports, the border became inaccessible after the Armenian trucks tried to import Georgian grape to Russia.

Gagik Aghajanyan refuted the news saying the trucks were transporting mineral water, stones and agricultural products besides grape.
