"The district has turned into a strip club"
"The 45th Street of Nor Aresh district has turned into a distant village," residents of the district complained to "A1+". According to them, the district lacks all communal conditions. But they were complaining for a different reason.
For the past 15 days, the administration of the nearby auto market has started building a sewerage system for its own restrooms.
Resident Hasmik Gasparyan told "A1+" that the sewerage system is passing over the drinking water tube installed in her home. According to her, the damage of one of the tubes may cause contagious diseases. The residents suggest that the sewerage system pass on the bottom of the district to refrain from all types of dangers.
Meanwhile, the auto market administration assures residents that it wants to do the residents a favor. "What favor? We are in danger of poisoning, not to mention that their bathrooms are located right next to our homes," says Mrs. Hasmik.
Due to the bathrooms, residents of 45th Street of Nor Aresh can't come out to the streets when the auto market opens. "The sellers come, use foul language and the bad smells spread throughout the district," says resident Hasmik.
Gagik Alaverdyan pointed to the hillside where car dealers go to use as bathrooms every Saturday and Sunday. "The district has turned into a strip club. There are many women passing by the streets. We scold those car dealers and always get into a dispute," says the resident.
The women of the district have tried to stop the construction of a sewerage system, but it has restarted after a while.
Representative of the auto market Nerses Nersisyan tried to assure "A1+" that the residents have always complained and caused a ruckus for no reason, but the market's actions are legal and confirmed by Yerevan municipality. Nersisyan assured that the sewerage system will not pass over the drinking water tube.
However, residents of the 45th Street of Nor Aresh say that if the issue is not solved, they will start protests.
