Be a beneficiary for the people's television
Announcement by the press divan of the "People's TV" Foundation
On October 28, the packages for the news television channel tender will be opened. "A1+" TV is participating in this tender and is preparing to present public votes along with its package.
The voting initiated by the "People's TV" Foundation through symbolic donations has launched. "It's not important how much you donate. The important thing is your participation which is also your vote for the people's television. Your participation can be decisive for Armenian television.
The data and certificates for the amounts must be submitted when the tender packages are opened on October 28.
Let us remind that verdict that the European Court of Human Rights announced on the appeal filed by "A1+" two years ago, that is, the violation of freedom of speech in Armenia, may finally be fulfilled, if the tender held by the National Commission on Television and Radio is free, fair and transparent.
December 16 will determine the future of Armenian television. Will Armenian television be a people's television for the next ten years that will listen to the people's voice and demand from the authorities? The answer to that question will be clear on that day.
"A1+" independent television company has applied to be back on air, despite the fact that the NCTR has denied airtime for 12 times since April 2, 2002.
"A1+" is participating in the news-analytical programming license tender and, as a weighty argument, it has 20 years of work experience, a reputation, the verdict of the European Court and public support.
The public supports "A1+" through the "People's TV" Foundation.
The Board of Trustees of the Foundation includes President of Yerevan Press Club Boris Navasardyan, Executive Director of "Internews" NGO Nune Sargsyan, member of the NCTR (2001-2007), former Deputy Minister of Culture, prose writer Karine Khodikyan, actor Karen Janibekyan, secretary of "Heritage" parliamentary faction Larisa Alaverdyan, Director of "Forum" Center for Rights Tigran Ter-Yesayan, President of "Asbarez" Journalists' Club of Gyumri Levon Barseghyan, Director of the Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor office Artur Sakunts, Editor-in-chief of "Aravot" daily Aram Abrahamyan and President of the Association "For Sustainable Human Development" Karine Danielyan.
In defense of having freedom of speech and a people's television in Armenia, the Board of Trustees has opened an account and each person can make a deposit, which will be considered a vote for the reopening of "A1+".
Be a beneficiary of the people's television. The sum can even be symbolic. The important thing is your participation.
