Armenian writer terminates hunger strike
Armenian writer and publicist Vahram Tatikyan today terminated his termless hunger strike amid the continuing construction of a dolphinarium in Yerevan's Komitas Park, near the "Pantheon."
Tatikyan started the strike Wednesday in protest against the controversial construction of the dolphin tank and demanded to involve the Pantheon in the list of Armenia's historical cultural monuments.
Today, he said his demand is partly met and the area would be enlisted among Armenian monuments.
Yestreday evening Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan visited Tatikyan with the correspondent decision and specialists who started enclosing the area.
"I left the area as they met my demand," Tatikyan told A1+.
The Park has been left in a neglected state for many years and has turned into a refuse pit.
