Do not beat minors!
November 19 is World Day for Prevention of Abuse and Violence against Children.
A group of mummers today tried to show violence near the monument of Yerevan's Aram Khachatryan Statue. The event was organized by World Vision Armenia, Armenian Police and Yerevan Municipality.
"My mom beats me from time to time, especially when I get on her nerves," 13-year-old Armine told A1+.
A boy selling flowers in the street said he is regularly beaten by his father who constantly demands vodka from him.
Khachik Avagyan, Head of the kenton Police Department for Juvenile Affairs says children have a right to lead a healthy childhood and adults should respect their rights.
The police call on children, who suffered from violence, to apply to the police, which will try to solve their problems.
Nineteen cases of minor rape were reported in Armenian between 2005 and 2009. 36 minors fell victim of sexual abuse in 2008-2010.
