Silent Witnesses exhibition opened in Yerevan's Charles Aznavour Square on November 29.

The exhibition features nine women's silhouettes with the stories of women who suffered from family violence.
The exhibition is organized by the Women's Rights Center NGO as part of 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence Campaign.

According to Women's Rights Center Director Susanna Vardanyan, the event aims to raise public awareness on domestic violence.

"If the public were informed of domestic violence, we could avert the death of 20-year-old Zaruhi Petrosyan who died after a brutal beating by her husband and father-in-law," she said.

According to Susanna Vardanyan, more and more people apply to the Center theses days as the society is changing its attitude towards family problems.
Women's Rights Center has organized a number of activities and events within the framework of annual Campaign "16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence" covering the period from November 25, 2010 to December 10, 2010.
