Christmas tree will be placed soon
The placement of the main Christmas tree has already begun at Republic Square and will end on December 15. The Christmas tree is a compilation of branches of fir trees collected through sanitary deforestation.
This year the Christmas tree will be 31 meters high; in other words, 2 meters higher than last year's tree. In 2009, the Christmas tree was 29 meters high. It was the second in the CIS territory in altitude and second after the Christmas tree in Moscow.
Tomorrow representatives of the Yerevan Municipality will also present the event program for the New Year celebration.
