Statement by the Armenian National Congress

"As expected, "A1+" was deprived of the right to airtime based on the results of the television frequency tender once again. The members of the NCTR showed that they have a psychology of a slave as they fulfilled the political order of the president and left the fulfillment of the European Court's verdict on bringing "A1+" back to air incomplete.

The regime's sordid fear for the dissemination of free speech to the masses is clear. By illegally closing the only free television in 2002, the regime showed its disparagement and cynicism toward the people. Now when many have access to free television and the words of the Armenian National Congress, the regime's only motive is the fear of its own people and that fear allows us to get a picture of how shaky the foundations of this government are.

Will the international democratic community, the Council of Europe, the OSCE, the European Union and the U.S. now understand that their policies on apologizing, convincing and calling on the regimes are fruitless and don't mean anything? The only thing that has an impact is the principle of expressing a coarse and determined position and telling the truth."
