Commander relieved of post over army incident
Armenia's Defense Minister Syran Ohanyan signed a decree on relieving colonel Sergey Karapetyan from the post of commander of a military unit in Tavush region.
On December 31, an incident took place in the military unit between unit commander Sergey Karapetyan and several civilians who went to see their acquaintance.
A dispute burst out after commander Karapetyan demanded that the civilians should leave the unit. The young people refused to obey and started a scuffle. As a result, two of them [Taron Yengibaryan, 20, and Ashot Ulikhanyan, 21] were taken to hospital with injuries.
Taron Yengibaryan died in "Grigor Lusavorich" hospital on the night of January 9.
Sergey Karapetyan is arrested.
