After the New Year's celebrations, residents of Chambarak village were surprised to find transport fares increased by AMD 300. Today they have to pay AMD 1200 to get to Yerevan against the former AMD 1500.

However, most passengers have to reconcile with the situation in order not to miss the appointment in the capital.

"Some are going to work, others to exams. We shall gain nothing if we complain," said a passenger.

Once you have a ticket, it does not mean you can have a seat in the minibus.

"I came to Chambarak to see my parents. Every time I come here I decide not to return to the village again as I am already tired of this mess," said Nelly who was standing with a ticket in her hands.

"You can wait for the next minibus to take you to the capital. The demand was so high that we had to call an extra minibus," said the conductor adding that the ticket prices will not be changed in 2011.
