Mayor of Yerevan Karen Karapetyan received Regional Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Paul Anry Forester. The mayor of Yerevan underlined that all projects confirmed by the municipality and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development must be ongoing in the capital.

Paul Anry Forester presented the program for ensuring the security of Yerevan's metro, which envisages making primary capital investments to upgrade Yerevan's metro.

The program is composed of two stages and the first stage is underway. The sides agreed to start the second stage in 2011.

Based on the program, the wagons will be repaired, the railways will be improved, the energy supply system will be rearmed and the pumps will be changed.

During the meeting, the sides also discussed issues related to the development of the policy on car stations and management of waste disposal at Nubarashen junkyard.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will soon present concrete proposals for these two programs. Karen Karapetyan mentioned that the cooperation between the government and private properties must be paid attention to.

"A favorable field for investments must be created for businessmen and investment operators in Yerevan. Yerevan must become a capital that lures businessmen," underlined Karen Karapetyan.
