Serzh Sargsyan today assured the parents of soldiers who died in peace that he would do everything possible to reveal the murders of their sons. He made the promise as he stood behind the bars of the presidential residence.

Sargsyan is preparing to receive and listen to the relatives of the victims in the presence of the newly appointed military prosecutor. Approaching the victims' relatives, Deputy Minister of Defense Vladimir Gasparyan informed that the Minister of Defense has assigned him to keep all issues in the center of his attention.

"There have been meetings with the relatives, friends and lawyers of the dead soldiers. The relatives are in so much pain after losing their children and we have no right to blame the relatives for their emotions," Mr. Gasparyan told "A1+".

Vladimir Gasparyan assures that there are groundless complaints. "In many cases, people simply want to talk and we are obliged to listen. As God as our witness, there definitely cannot and will not be any case of bloodshed."

Although they were at the presidential residence, the relatives still said they didn't believe that the murders would be revealed. Father of soldier Gegham Sergoyan told "A1+" that his son was killed in Stepanakert in 2007.

Arayik Avetisyan was killed in 2001 after a shot in the forehead. The soldier's mother Anahit Mkrtchyan says one of the soldiers at the military unit has been sentenced for "a careless murder", even though the latter has nothing to do with the murder. "The commander of the battalion killed my son and I have evidence. Today Serzh Sargsyan asks me if I have appealed to him or not."

Soldier Valerik Muradyan was killed in one of the military units of Stepanakert on 15 March 2010. "My son suffocated and then hung. The minister received me twice, but nobody was brought to justice. They say my son was hung at an altitude of 1 m 45 cm when he is nearly 1m 80 cm," said the soldier's mother Nana Muradyan.

The victims' relatives are certain that the meeting with Serzh Sargsyan will not change anything, but they wish they were wrong.

A short while ago it was notified that Serzh Sargsyan will meet with the relatives on Saturday morning.
