The hearing of Mher Yenokyan's case filed against "Kentron" television has been postponed to February 9. Mher Yenokyan has been sentenced to life in prison for incorrectly shedding light on his criminal case.

The trial was held at the Ajapnyak and Davitashen districts' general jurisdiction court and was headed by Judge David Balyan and it was postponed due to the lack of a stamp on the "Kentron" television station representative's credential.

Mher Yenokyan's attorney Vahagn Manukyan told "A1+" that the court didn't uphold his client's appeal to show up to court once again.

Mher Yenokyan demands the television station to deny the case and identify the source that provided the television station with materials of the criminal case instigated against him. According to the court, "Kentron" television station has submitted a video confirming that it has broadcast the material showing the denial and has asked to quash the case.

According to attorney Vahagn Manukyan, it wasn't denied by legal order and the wrong video regarding the criminal case is still posted on the Internet.

Let us remind that third-year student of Yerevan State Medical University Mher Yenokyan, 20, has been sentenced to a death penalty and later life in prison for a murder committed in 1996.

Mher Yenokyan and his family disagree with the court's verdict. They have been appealing to different instances for years with the request to revise the case and examine it once again, but in vain.

The prisoner has escaped from the penitentiary two times, after which he has announced that he was trying to draw attention to revision of the case.
