Will hear Ruben Hayrapetyan swearing

Social

Today "Hetq" sent a "Message about a Crime" to RA Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan with the recording of a telephone conversation with MP Ruben Hayrapetyan attached to it. The following is the content of the "message" in its entirety:

Dear Mr. Hovsepyan,

On February 2, "Hetq" newspaper journalist Grisha Balasanyan called MP Ruben Hayrapetyan on his cell phone to receive information. After introducing himself, Ruben Hayrapetyan said ‘What is that newspaper? A new newspaper comes out every day and decides to call me?"

"Is it prohibited to call you?" asked the "Hetq" journalist.

"I have a press service, you ignorant. Contact me through the press service," said the MP and hung up.

Grisha Balasanyan sheds light on the National Assembly's activities and is very well aware that no MP has a press service. Ruben Hayrapetyan has a pres service at the Football Federation of Armenia, but the journalist didn't want information about football.

Journalist Grisha Balasanyan called Hayrapetyan again to find out why the MP was insulting him and calling him ignorant just because he was doing his job and simply trying to receive information from a state official. Ruben Hayrapetyan tried to find out whether the conversation was being recorded and when the journalist said it was being recorded, he started using profane language. After cursing at Balasanyan, he said he "did a good thing" and continued. The MP clearly impeded the journalist from doing his job according to Article 164 of the RA Criminal Code.

We ask you to take measures to bring MP Ruben Hayrapetyan to justice.

Attached to the message you will find the N4 (64) February 3-9, 2011 edition of "Hetq" weekly with the corresponding title and the recording of the telephone conversation on the DVD. We are ready to provide you with the original recording in case of need.
