Threatening to close road

Social

The residents of Dashtavan village in Ararat province today organized a precautionary protest in their village.

The villagers claim that they are being obligated to pay huge sums of money for water, but they have already paid those amounts and have the checks.

The villagers have debts starting from 180,000 drams up to 300,000 drams.

"To be honest, they are telling us to pay 20,000 or 30,000 drams and we won't have any more debts," say villagers.

The villagers have appealed to the head of the Ararat region, but the latter has called on them to go to Masis regional center.

"But we know that if we go there, they are going to lull us and nothing will change," said one of the villagers.

The residents of Dashtavan village are resolute and they may even close the Masis-Echmiadzin road.
