Trial postponed
The general jurisdiction court of Ararat province and Vayots Dzor today postponed the first trial for the case of Zaruhi Petrosyan who died after her husband beat her. The trial will be held on March 11 at 11 a.m.
Zaruhi's relatives said "due to the demonstrations in the country on the occasion of March 1, the prisoners are not being brought out from the prisons since there is a fear that they may escape".
Today the court was supposed to discuss the issue of extending Zaruhi Petrosyan's husband Yanis Sarkisov's time in prison.
Yanis Sarkisov isi charged with Point 14, Part 2, Article 112 of the RA Criminal Code which envisages 6-10 years in prison. Yanis Sarkisov has been under arrest for over 5 months now.
It is almost impossible to come from Masis to Yerevan since no bus driver will dare to drive. Zaruhi Petrosyan's relatives, who live in Masis, told "A1+" that they had a hard time getting to Yerevan due to lack of buses.
