Demonstrators went to HHK office
The demonstrators gathered near the government building today were not aware that the government had decided to hold an outgoing session in Ashtarak city. After waiting for a while, they decided to raise their signs to express their protest.
The former residents of Northern Avenue, who have been fighting for their rights for 8 years, were also near the government building.
President of "Protection of Property Rights" NGO Vachagan Hakobyan noted that despite the fact that there was no government session today, they are sure that the government officials are aware of the Northern Avenue residents' ongoing struggle.
The cheated residents of Babajanyan 25, Gevorg Chavush 37 and 14/3 were also there. They didn't approach the building and expressed their protest at Republic Square. These residents are members of the "Norashen 2007" consumer cooperative and are rest assured that their homes were sold to other people.
"We have always heard that a lawsuit has been filed, that the investigative bodies are working on it and that the cooperative's president Armen Tadevosyan has been arrested, but we don't see any progress," said resident Alexander Zurnachyan.
The action participants stayed at Republic Square for a couple of minutes and moved toward the HHK (Republican Party) office with the hope that somebody would listen to them. Some of them were called to talk to head of the Republican Party's NA faction Galust Sahakyan and still haven't comem out of the party's office.
