No need to panic, says Ministry of Emergency Situations
The yellow dust seen in Yerevan and neighboring regions is caused by the specks of dust brought to Armenia by southwestern winds, specifically from the deserts of the Arab countries, reports the Ministry of Nature Protection of the Republic of Armenia.
Specialists say there's no need to worry about the heavy dust as it does not exceed the norm. The situation becomes alarming only when the concentration of dust exceeds the norm 50 times which is not the case in Armenia where it exceeds the norm 2-2.3 times.
They say that the dust clouds will disappear in a couple of hours.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, no accident was recorded in factories and there is no need to panic over the dust.
