Chairman of the Armenian Public Television Aleksan Harutyunyan advises Armenians not to make a tragedy of Emmy's below-par performance at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest.

"We all need to support Emmy and not to leave her alone. We should encourage her at this difficult moment, because life is going on and Emmy is to continue singing and participating in concerts and contests," Harutyunyan said on Wednesday when asked to comment on Emmy's defeat at the Eurovision 2011 semi-final.

"Let us not forget that this is a song contest," said Harutyunyan adding that Turkey has not qualified for the final either.

Armenia's entry for Eurovision 2011 was decided by the Creative Council of the Public Television.

as reported earlier, Armenian pop singer Emmy failed to qualify for the finals of Eurovision 2011.  This is the first time a representative of Armenia has not made it through to the grand final.
