The Russian Rosootrudnichestvo company will undertake efforts to restore the observatory in Byurakan. Today Armenian scientists met with the Russian delegation at the RA National Academy of Sciences where they discussed the issue of space debris and the engagement of young scientists in the studies.

"We are not preparing to fight against space debris. Our objective is to study it," said Director General of Proyekttekhnika scientific production enterprise Mikhail Kardashenko.

President of the RA NAS, academician Radik Martirosyan attached importance to the fact that this is reinstating the Armenian-Russian cooperation in space research.

"With this, Armenian scientists will have the opportunity to improve the base of technologies and the results of their research," said the academician.

According to Byurakan Observatory director Hayk Harutyunyan, the Armenian-Russian cooperation will continue for decades.

"This cooperation is very important in that it will restore and upgrade the instruments we use at our observatory. We will be involved in the most important space issues concerning the humanity and our main studies.
