“Thank you for banning smoking in public places”
Anti-smoking campaign will be held in Yerevan on June 4, 2011.
The event is organized by "Kanachastan" NGO in cooperation with the Yerevan Municipality, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Counterpart International - Armenia Office.
Over 100 young people will participate in the campaign which is due to start from the Statue of Arno Babajanyan. The participants will divide into groups and visit crowded public places where smoking is banned or restricted. They will give letters of appreciation to cafes, restaurants, bars for putting a ban on smoking with the words, "Thank you for caring about our health and banning smoking in the building."
The first anti-smoking campaign was held on May 25 during which about 100 young volunteers handed appreciation letters to urban drivers for banning smoking in public transportation.
