Only the stone tablet left on Yerevan's Tigran Mets Avenue reminds of the existence of Lake Erebuni.

"The stone left by the constructors bears the inscription, ‘To Yerevan on its 2750 anniversary.' If the stone is removed, the lake will lose its meaning. Unfortunately, the site has turned into a dump," said resident of Erebuni community Hrach Ashughyan, pointing to a landfill.

After numerous unsuccessful attempts to call the attention of city authorities to the site the locals were forced to clean up the area themselves. However, the area again became a dump.

"Once there was a lake here, with boats floating around. Now the site has become a wasteland which attracts vagrants and homeless people," said Ashughyan.

"In winter we come here to play snowball but in summer it is impossible to near the site," said Elina Tagvoryan.

A1+ has filed a written inquiry with Yerevan Municipality in an effort to clarify the fate of the lake. We shall again return to the theme upon receiving an answer by the municipality.
