Hepatitis becoming dangerous in Armenia
An information awareness action devoted to the International Hepatology Day will be held in Yerevan on September 2.
Twenty volunteers of the Armenian Red Cross will distribute materials shedding light on Hepatitis B and C and will provide information about the issue of hepatitis.
According to the World Health Organization, 1 million people die from hepatitis every year.
Experts say there are nearly ten viruses that cause different types of hepatitis, and among the more dangerous viruses are Hepatitis B and C.
80-85 percent of these cases turn into chronic, and only 15-20 percent of them are treated.
There is a growth of this disease in Armenia as well. "There is a great need to respond to the current situation and take preventive measures," as stated in the Armenian Red Cross's message.
