Suicide attempt in court
"Yesterday the court of general jurisdiction of Arabkir district registered Armen Martirosyan's suicide attempt," President of the Helsinki Association Mikayel Danielyan told "A1+".
The incident took place after the judge examining the case told the culprits that they had to leave the courtroom due to the noise.
Armen Martirosyan, Karen Karapetyan and Petros Hakobyan are charged with bandit assaults in 2009, but Armen Martirosyan doesn't accept the charge.
The culprit's mother, Ofelya Martirosyan yesterday appealed to the Helsinki Association and assured that his son testified after tortures. "The police truly tortured my son, and the bruises on his back are evidence of that. The boy is psychologically ill, and if a person tries to kill himself several times, it means that he has some motivation. He can't take somebody else's blame," President of the Helsinki Association Mikayel Danielyan said.
The Helsinki Association is preparing to appeal to the competent instances to find out the truth and punish the real culprits.
According to Mikayel Danielyan, this case is linked to the case of former head of the chief department of criminal investigation of the RA Police, Hovhannes Tamamyan.
Let us also mention that Armen Martirosyan's trial began in August 2010, and this is the third time that the culprit is attempting suicide.
