In the first six months of 2011, the number of those wishing to get married exceeds the number in the same period last year, going from 8,732 to 9,364. According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the majority of couples are from Yerevan and unlike residents of provinces, citizens of Yerevan also divorce as much.

In January-June, 1,575 couples divorced, and that is 101 times more than last year's indicator.

Compared to the first semester last year, this year the number has reduced by 44% (from 21,029 to 20,102). The highest birth rate indicator was registered in Yerevan (7,382) and in Kotayk province (1,842 children). Out of the 20,102 children, how many were boys and girls? In response, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reported that the service provides that data at the end of the year.

In January-June 2011, Mane and Narek were the names that were most frequently given to children. Milena and Elen are still in the top three names for girls, and David and Gor are the names that are most frequently given to boys.

This year, the number of deaths has risen as well (14,743 cases), which exceeds the indicator of the six months last year by 3.25%. Blood circulation diseases were the reason for 49.7% of cases.
