Crop didn’t make “living” easy

Armenia registered 4.8% inflation in August 2011 compared to the same period last year. According to the National Statistical Service, food prices went up 7.5% and services went up 2.1%.

However, according to the NSS, prices fell by 0.6% in August compared to July. Food prices reduced by 1%, prices for accessories reduced by 0.1% and service prices went up by 0.1%.

The reduction is primarily due to the reduction of prices for food, vegetables, potatoes and bread.

Compared to July, prices for benzene and diesel fuel went up by 0.1% and 0.2% respectively. Compared to August last year, benzene and diesel fuel prices went up by 24.6% and 29.9% respectively in Armenia.
