Yak-42 plane crashes near Yaroslavl, killing 43
A Yak-42 plane performing charter flight to Minsk crashed on takeoff in Yaroslavl airport Tunoshna, killing 43 people.
There were 45 people on board including four crew members. There was only two survivors.
According to the Emergency Situations Ministry, the plane was carrying Yaroslavl's Locomotive ice hockey team to Minsk.
According to eyewitnesses, the plane rammed into the ground and fell apart. A fragment of the fuselage got into the Volga River. The wreck caught fire.
