Sugar inflation being cleared up
The RA State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition has already launched studies on the sugar inflation, the Commission's press secretary Gayane Sahakyan told "A1+".
Sugar prices range from 440 to 480 drams.
The Commission started its study on August 23 when the price sharply rose.
By the Commission's demand, the sugar-importing company has already submitted information on which country the sugar was purchased from, at what price and how much it cost.
"We also demanded information from supermarkets and found out how the inflation took place and to what extent," the SCPEC press secretary told "A1+".
The Commission has been given 90 days according to the order prescribed by the law. Gayane Sahakyan assures that the study usually ends in shorter timeframes and the society will likely be informed about the results sooner.
Sugar is imported and sold in Armenia by Alex Grig, which belongs to MP Samvel Alexanyan.
