The traffic has been paralyzed in Yerevan since early morning. Nearly all suburban commuters were late for work due to traffic jams in the city center. After remaining in the ‘clogged' streets for hours people tried to get to their destination on foot. Tsitsernakaberd highway and Myasnikyan avenue are nearly impassable. The same picture was observed in the capital yesterday evening after the visit of French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

The French Square in Yerevan downtown was surrounded by policemen who patrolled even the bus stations. Only after the French President's escort left the area the roads were again opened to traffic.
Serzh Sargsyan and Nicolas Sarkozy had gone to Republic Square to admire ‘the singing fountains.'
