Alley to Armenian benefactors not completed
The construction of an alley of Armenian benefactors in Yerevan's Ring Park has not completed yet.
The alley was to open to public in September but the opening ceremony was postponed to the surprise of guests and benefactors invited from the Diaspora. The benefactors, presses and guests who had been invited to the event were told that opening was postponed due to some technical difficulties.
Today a memorial symbolizing the collective image of Armenia benefactors was erected in the alley, with bas-reliefs of great benefactors stretching on either side of the alley. However, the names of benefactors are not put on the stones.
Here one can see the statues of great benefactors, Brothers Hovhannes and Hovakim Lazarian, Alexander Mantashyan, Boghos Nubar, Calouste Gulbenkian, Alek Manoogian and Mikayel Aramyan.
Kamo Sargsyan, Head of the all-Armenian, international and church establishments ties department at the Ministry of Diaspora, says the opening ceremony will likely take place in late October.
The author of the bas-reliefs is sculptor Ferdinand Arakelyan.
