Relatives of soldiers who died in the army in non-combat conditions, supporters and human rights activists today staged a protest action outside the Armenian President's residence presidential, demanding to end impunity in Armenia's Armed Forces.

They demanded Serzh Sargsyan to come out and answer for the non-combat deaths but it was Vardan Ghukasyan, assistant to Deputy Defense Minister Vladimir Gasparyan, who received the protesters.

He invited the protesters to take part in a board meeting of the military prosecutor's office, in which investigators responsible for various cases of soldier deaths were participating. However, the group refused to attend the sitting saying they knew what answer they would be given there.

"Real murderers are at large. Our children were murdered, let them come and talk to us," said Mrs. Gohar, a participant of today's protest action.

Vardan Ghukasyan pledged to answer the parents in the near future.

"Our people must understand that we are not going to conceal the facts and misspend blood," he said.
The desperate protesters left the presidential residence, shouting "Serzh, go away!"
