Armenia scores medal in Paralympic Games
On October 21, Armenian athletes will return to Armenia after participating in the World Paralympic Weightlifting Championship held in Khorfaka, United Arab Emirates.
Representing Armenia at the games were multi-profile athletes Greta Vardanyan from Gyumri and Samvel Asatryan from Voskevaz.
The world paralympic weightlifting championship had brought together athletes from nearly 25 countries around the world.
Greta Vardanyan scored the silver medal.
After losing her legs and becoming disabled due to the earthquake in 1988, 25-year old Greta scored another silver medal in the open European championship held in Armenia in 2007. She dreams of becoming a paralympic champion.
Armenia has been participating in the Paralympic Games since 1996.
