Youth initiative calls for Khachaturov’s resignation
"We shall not keep silent" youth initiative says the continuing tragic incidents in the army are resulted by the indifference and negligence of the military staff.
"They can be characterized as corrupt groups that have concluded illicit deals with one another. The relations within the group are regulated by laws and regulations of the criminal world," the initiative said in a statement.
"This eventually leads to losses in the army and forces our soldiers to fight against discrimination and injustice. These internal conflicts often end in self-distortion, or, at best, in a dream to leave Armenia after completing military service.
Numerous are the cases when the relatives of assassinated soldiers were bribed or intimidated to keep silent," the initiative said laying the blame for the shameful events on Colonel-General Yuri Khachaturov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.
"We shall not keep silent and we shall continue to demand the resignation of Yuri Khachaturov," said the group.
