"Ashtarak Kat" fined for cheating buyers

The State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) has publicized the results of its inspection conducted in the dairy industry.

According to the SCPEC, Ashtarak Kat Company has cheated buyers for 14 months selling them dairy products made from coconut oil and milk powder.

"A diary product cannot be called sour cream if it is made from coconut oil and vegetable oil which are twice as cheap as animal oil," SCPEC Chairman Artak Shaboyan stressed.
Ashtarak Kat has been fined in the amount of 50 million drams for gross violations in the market.

Two more companies -Dustr Mariana and Ani Kat were fined in the amount of 20 million drams and 5 million drams respectively.
