President declares state of emergency
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev today declared a state of emergency in Janoaen. The decree has already been posted on the President's official website.
We remind that a clash between the police and opposition members left 16 citizens dead and 300 with injuries.
The state of emergency has been declared for 20 days.
During the state of emergency, the city will be under strict supervision and people's mobility will be restricted. The city's most important places will be under supervision.
Rallies, marches, demonstrations and workers' strikes, as well as the sale of weapons and other technical equipment are prohibited. It is even prohibited to sell audio-visual CDs or devices for video recording and copying.
