Life-termer: “The Ministry is lying”
Life-termer Arthur Mkrtchyan, who started hunger strike in the Nubarashen penitentiary two weeks ago, rejects the Justice Ministry's statement that he had been transferred to a ‘furnished cell.'
Today he called the editorial office of "A1 +" Company to say that he is still in a solitary confinement. During these two weeks doctors visited Mkrtchyan four times.
"I asked them to account for their decision of transferring me from a cell to a solitary confinement. "There is not any cell available," was the reply," said the life-termer.
The Ministry of Justice earlier reported that ‘Mkrtchyan has been taken to a special ward where he is under the constant surveillance of doctors.'
The Ministry's spokesperson Karine Kalantaryan said that they were going to issue a report on the life-termer's condition.
Arthur Mkrtchyan does not plead guilty to the crime he is charged with and is not going to contest it in court.
