247 snakes have been found in the luggage of a passenger on a flight from Buenos Aires to Madrid.

La Segunda reports that the airport employees were simply shocked when they saw Czech citizen Karel Abelovsky's luggage that was literally living.

When they opened the luggage, they found South American snakes in plastic packages, poisonous snakes and several small anacondas.

Some animals have been registered in the list of disappearing types, but hunting them is simply prohibited by international declarations.

The airport employees and the guest experts found both animals dead. They say the other would drown, if they were handed as baggage.

Newsru reports that the incident took place on December 7, but only today was it announced. A case has been instigated against the Czech citizen and he may face 10 years in prison.

A similar incident took place on September 2 at Munich airport when airport employees found 36 snakes in a 22-year old Australian citizen's luggage at the customs point.
