Black boxes for cars
Russian insurance companies and federal operators, as well as the Nice Glonass Company, which produces black boxes for airplanes, are discussing the issue of placing black boxes in automobiles.
The sides believe black boxes will register the real reasons behind car accidents.
The project was confirmed by President of the Russian State Insurance Association Pavel Bunin, who mentioned that the sides have signed a confidential agreement and still aren't going into details.
However, Russian mass media outlets disseminated information about the "smart insurance" and were able to find out some details through their sources.
The Nice Glonass black boxes will be on sale in Russia soon.
Italy and England already apply black boxes in cars.
