Judges seizes opportunity, moves court sessions to Tavush
Samvel Mardanyan, a judge of the General Jurisdiction Court of Tavush marz, ruled to continue hearings in the case of officer Artak Nazaryan in Berd, Tavush.
The decision was sparked by an incident that started between the relatives of the accused and the witness in court on Tuesday.
According to the judge, most of the accused and witnesses are from Tavush and therefore the hearings would continue in the marz.
In 2011, the hearings were held in Berd, however, the victim's relatives requested that the court sessions be moved to Yerevan.
Artak Nazaryan was found dead in one of the border bases in Chinari villages on July 27, 2010. Though Nazaryan was officially announced to have committed suicide, his relatives claim that the 30-year-old lieutenant was murdered.
Five accused have been named in the case.
