Discussion on Kajaran village issue
Representatives of "Heritage" Party and the RA Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources will finally meet to discuss the issue of the lands in the Kajaran village of Syunik province today.
We remind that during the government's previous session, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan assigned Minister Armen Movsisyan to call deputies to a meeting, listen to them and give clarifications. "Heritage" Party organized today's meeting at the RA Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
Even though "Heritage" MP Anahit Bakhshyan informed that presses would also be present at the discussion, the Ministry representatives told "A1+" that the meeting would be held behind closed doors.
The deputies of "Heritage" Party demand that the government annul the decision on handing the lands near Kajaran to the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Factory CJSC. Villagers say this mining industry project will lead to emigration.
"The company director has already announced that the company doesn't need those lands. In that case, we have a question: If they don't need those lands and aren't going to exploit them, why have they been recognized as supreme public interest?" mentioned Bakhshyan and voiced hope that they would be able to make the government annul that decision on the grounds of that.
The representatives of "Heritage" Party had informed the head of Kajaran village about the meeting.
