The "Kapan News" news program won't be broadcast on Kapan's "Khustup TV" cable television until May 9, reports media.am.

The television station's editor Sasun Manukyan has assured that the station's decision is linked to the May 6 parliamentary elections.

"There will be people who will say this has a political subtext, but that is a wrong approach," says Sasun Manukyan, adding that the station is simply in the stage of technical rearmament and is preparing for a new season.

Starting this week, "Khustup" TV has made the transition to digital broadcasting and offers its local viewers up to 56 different kinds of TV channels.

Starting from May 9, the TV station will broadcast new programs, including the "Our Villages" series about villages in Syunik province, the children's program called "World of Children" and the TV show "Image" about citizens of Kapan.
