A group of villagers who had been holding a protest since yesterday finally managed to have a meeting with Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan. They demanded guarantees that milk prices wouldn't go down, but the minister's response wasn't satisfying.

"The minister says the government can't control the prices and that individual entrepreneurs do whatever they want. He told us to sign contracts, but nobody signs any contracts with us," said one of the protesters after the meeting with the minister.

Almost all the villagers producing milk in Kotayk province have put their homes up for an auction and have taken loans. If milk prices don't go up, they will be forced to sell their cattle.

The villagers of Kotayk province are planning to come to Yerevan and hold another protest near the government building.
