Owners of about 50 apartments in Yerevan's Arami and Yerkmalyan streets have started termless hunger strike and sit-in outside the presidential residence in Yerevan in an attempt to draw Serzh Sargsyan's attention to their demands.

The aggrieved demonstrators demand that Gabbnakshin Ltd return them their apartments, which have been resold to new owners. They say that the government commission set up to look into the issue is not concerned with their future.

"Last Friday we became convinced that the main mission of the commission is to conceal the facts delude us into false hopes," said Sonik Maghakyan.

The cheated citizens were joined by about 48 constructors who blamed Gabbnakshin for violating their rights and delaying wages for months.

Multiple sales of one and the same apartment in the newly constructed building in 72-80 Aram Street has become a subject of heated discussions for hundreds of people who signed preliminary contracts with Gabbnakshin Ltd. Each apartment in the new multi-apartment residential building is said to have several buyers.
