Court denies prisoner’s appeal
The court of general jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash districts today denied the appeal filed by Mher Yenokyan, who is sentenced to life in prison.
Yenokyan appealed the decree issued by Robert Kocharyan in 2003 according to which the death sentencing was replaced with life in prison.
During yesterday's trial, prosecutor Alexander Muradyan declared that the appeal was groundless and shouldn't have been presented to the court.
"The head of state issued a correct decree. The appeal has to be denied."
July will mark 17 years since Mher Yenokyan was sentenced to prison at Nubarashen Penitentiary.
