They can’t see the better Armenia
Support A1+!Children presented the current state of nature in Armenia and proposed solutions during the clay drawing contest held in Yerevan on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The event was attended by RA Minister of Nature Protection Aram Harutyunyan, who presented the issues related to nature protection in Armenia.
The minister said one of the primary issues of concern was the mining industry.
"We have envisaged provisions to raise many issues related to nature protection and exploit mines after those issues are solved," said Harutyunyan.
Environmentalist, activist Gor Hakobyan shares the minister's view, but finds that different state authorities have their share of the blame for this, including the Ministry of Nature Protection.
"They can't emphasize and see the course of Armenia's development. We can't see a new, better Armenia where we can live in more harmony with nature," said Hakobyan.
The environmentalist is certain that if the indifference toward the environment continues, Armenia will be left without green areas in 20-30 years.
