Monte died 19 years ago
On the early morning of June 12, 1993, the self-defense forces of the Martuni region of Nagorno-Karabakh started eliminating the military bases stationed in several villages of the Azerbaijani region of Aghdam.
The men were on the ground during the first shooting. Monte ran toward the wall of the house nearby, and the second gunshot was heard. It had touched the wall...A large piece of the wall had gone into Monte's head. Four of the men were already wounded. Hovik signaled for help through his two-way radio while holding Monte in his lap and said: "00 has been shot"...
They positioned themselves next to the commander and continued the resistance. The forces that came to the rescue eliminated the Azeri detachment by holding one of the Azeri soldiers in captivity. The chief of investigation Saribek Martirosyan was already wounded and died after being transferred to the hospital.
