Fourteen-year-old girl not allowed to attend school
Gohar Abgaryan, 14, lives in Hovtamej village in Armenia's Armavir province. In her childhood, she was confined inside the house and was never allowed to go out of the gates. Gohar does not have a birth certificate. Nor has she even gone to school.
The family lives in abject poverty. Gohar's mother Sona Abgaryan suffers from a mental illness. She is said to have fled the house and spent several days in the fields. She gave birth to Gohar under a bridge of neighboring Tsakhkunk village.
