They will join demand for dropping mandate
Sociologist Vahram Mirakyan links the brutal murder of military doctor Vahe Avetyan at Harsnakar Restaurant to the aggression on television. Mirakyan calls everyone's attention to the fact that there is no positive image of an officer on television today and television channels continue to show criminals and bodyguards.
"Even if in this case there is no direct relationship between the policy on television and the incident that took place at Harsnakar, in general we can surely say Armenian television and Armenian media turn the people who committed murder at Harsnakar into heroes," said Vahram Mirakyan.
Vahram Mirakyan says the characters in TV soap operas make the society duplicate.
"Duplication comes from the young generation since socialization still goes on in children. They are still in the process of formation and duplicate all that they see," said the sociologist.
The main goal of the members of the initiative called "Demand for Cleaning Television Programs" is to ensure television broadcasting that won't degrade the society. Member of the initiative, military expert David Jamalyan says Armenian television serves trash that helps form bad people in society.
