President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan has conveyed his message to Armenian Olympic athletes a day ahead of the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games.

"Dear athletes and coaches, Armenia's delegation will once again participate in the summer Olympic Games.

I am certain that you will represent our country with honor, will fairly compete in different sports and fully show your skills and mastery and will defend the honor of the flag of Armenia with honor.

Of course, you realize that our compatriots in Armenia and the Diaspora will be closely following up on your performances. I believe you will meet our expectations and will score new victories and will find your worthy place in the history of Armenian sports.

I will be personally following up on the 2012 London Olympics on the site and will be one of the most enthusiastic fans of the Armenian athletes. In addition, I wish to witness your victories so that we can feel the joy of victory together.

Be armed with patience and hope for victories.

Good luck to you all."

We add that no president of any country has declared that he or she will be following up on the London Olympics on the site.
