There has been an increase in the number of applicants to the guitar program at Yerevan Music School after Spendiaryan.

In the words of the school headmaster Margarita Vardanyan, even people who are successful in their careers express a desire to learn to play a musical instrument. 30 beginners are currently enrolled in the guitar class.

The headmaster noted that even those, whom their parents could not compel to attend a music school in childhood, now do it with pleasure. "Musical education makes people more knowledeable and spiritually rich. After all, the ability to play a musical instrument is tantamount to the knowledge of a foreign language," Margarita Vardanyan said.
An artistic department opened at the school - for people over the age of 18 who would like to fill a gap in their musical background.

According to the headmaster, the interest in national instruments has grown as well, as evidenced by the increased number of pupils attending the classes of national instruments such as duduk, shvi, etc.
Yet violin is among the musical instruments that do not attract many pupils since it is difficult to learn to play violin. There are only two applicants to the violin class, despite the rather low fee of 6,000 drams.
The current number of applicants to Music School after Spendiarian is not yet final (137 applications have been submitted so far), whereas admission to the Special Vocal-Choir School located in the same building ended in June, with 130 pupils enrolled.

According to Ms. Hasmik Safrasbekyan, the headmaster of this choir school that prepares opera singers, their pupils participate in various concerts such as gala performances, the opera Carmen, and others.
